My Father-in-law hosted a family reunion at his house for his siblings and their spouses. They hung out together for a week. They had us come over one day to get some pictures of the crew. It was great to be able to swing down and see everyone!

My little nephew is now officially two days past his due date and his mom is anxious for his arrival. I am now under the suspicion that I could partially be responsible since I haven’t yet shared his maternity session pictures. I know that is crazy, but to clear my concious… I’m blogging them today!
From starting home-school for my daughter, followed by a very busy fall season, and adding in the craziness of moving across the state–working lately has been rough. So, my little brother’s session got the shaft. But here it is! Now all can see what a beautiful family he has! And maybe it won’t hurt to encourage little baby Lyle to get on out via a comment or two!

Emily and her husband Scooter (whom I have had the sincere pleasure to work with since their engagement pictures), are expecting their second son. The doctors have noticed several complications with Beckham as he develops however, and he is not expected to live long after his birth. I have had few words to offer upon hearing this devastating news. But have certainly spent my time grieving with and praying for this sweet family as I know the many people who love them have. When she let me know they wanted to go ahead with the maternity session, I was so pleased. I wanted to be able to preserve this moment in time for the, when Beckham is with them. Right now, he is moving around inside of Emily and this is still a very special time! I hope that through this photography session I was able to capture that happiness of being with Beckham, as well as the reverence for this precious child God has given her.

As if you can’t tell from my relative silence on the blog for the month of October and my constant posting now… it was another busy October for this photographer. I had a great run of sessions all over the place and all different types. I’m excited to finish them to the point I’m ready to share! Here’s another great one, this time a family session I did in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
I’m so blessed to have so many loyal clients. This is the Thompson family who waited for my next trip to the area just so I could capture their family portraits this year! We started out at Blessings Golf Club where Kirsten and her daddy frequently play and practice together. Then we did the rest of the session at the exquisitely beautiful private chapel, St. Catherine’s at Bell Gable. What a perfect night!

I was in Utah a few days back and I had a great time at the Click Away photography conference! I went with my friend Brianne, who I hadn’t seen since high school. We had a great time in classes, we learned a lot and caught up with each other. We were inspired by the amazing group of women (photo-moms from all over the world) who were teaching there. I spent one evening meeting Brianne’s gorgeous family and taking pictures of them in gorgeous Utah! It was such a refreshing kind of session for me. We decided to just have fun and let the kids be themselves. And the scene was …perfection. Here are my faves:

Like most families, it had been a while since the Massey’s had a family picture, so it was time. The challenge when you have kids that have moved out is trying to find a time when they are all together, but the planets aligned last month and we got some great pictures that will be treasured!
It’s that time of year again! Time to get your family pictures for the wall, and Christmas cards, and all that jazz! I’ve got only a few spots set aside next month for families, go ahead and claim yours!
